Primary Care Physician for the Largest Community Clinic in Northern California
Job Label: LACL-DOCTR-UHP
For the physician that is seeking to make a difference in the lives of underserved patients in the community while working with a financially stable clinic that has been delivering the highest quality of healthcare for the past 38 years, then this is an incredible opportunity with La Clinica. Since its beginnings as a single storefront operation in Oakland in 1971, La Clinica has grown into a sophisticated provider of primary medical and other health care services, with 26 sites spread across Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano Counties. Your work will be supported by an outstanding multi-disciplinary team and a strong network of professionals including social workers, behaviorists, dentists and nutritionists - to name a few. Our model healthcare initiatives such as our chronic care collaboratives and peer education programs allow us to deliver cutting-edge care to the community. We offer a very competitive benefits package including student loan repayment options, generous health benefits, a cafeteria plan, educational leave, and a 403(b) retirement plan. More about our benefits here: http://www.laclinica.org/employ-benefits.html.
La Clinica delivers health care services in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner to most effectively address the needs of the diverse populations we serve. Today, La Clinica delivers an array of services including: medical, dental, optical, women’s health, prenatal and postnatal care, preventive medicine, health and nutrition education, adolescent services, mental health, behavioral health services, case management, referral services, pharmacy, radiology and lab. In 2008, La Clinica provided care to over 53,000 patients, amounting to more than 262,000 patient visits. With over thirty-eight years of experience serving the community, La Clinica is one of the largest community-based clinics in the state of California. (www.laclinica.org)
Because La Clinica services a variety of cultural backgrounds, we are seeking physicians who are bilingual in either Spanish or Cantonese in order to serve our diverse patients. We have openings in several of our clinics in all of our three counties and the positions include family practice physicians, OB/GYNs, and other specialties. We have opportunities to work in exclusively outpatient or a blend of outpatient and inpatient care. There is availability for full time or part time roles and your flexibility to work evenings or weekends will be a major plus. An MD degree and a valid license to practice medicine (preferably in California) are required. A full time position includes clinic and follow-up time, and participation in meetings and committees within the 40 hour work week. If you are eager to join a culture that is committed to top quality care, constant learning, and reaching the highest standards of healthcare, then make La Clinica the place were you can make a difference.
